Cosmic Brewey

Cosmic Brewey is a space-theme root beer branding I created for my Advanced Graphic II class. This project was a packaging design where students had to create products or materials for marketing. For this project, I chose to create a soda branding for class.

Inspiration

My idea for selecting soda as my packaging is because when I look at the soda designs for Coke, Pepsi, and Sprite, they look so classic and unique that they capture the attention of many and communicate the brand’s nature of what they are. Many people like to drink soda due to the sweetness of flavor each has, and it is quite addictive for many.

Logo

The Cosmic Brewey logo was created using Procreate. I made the design look almost like the symbols of outer space and added different shapes to create a swirling and blurred effect to make it look like a different galaxy. I made three logos with different colors, each representing the types of flavors needed for the soda. The flavors for each are root beer, vanilla, and cherry.

Soda Labels

After I finished creating the logo, I worked on making the labels to place on the soda cans. I first worked on the root beer design, where I found the right font for my packaging, and I chose Futura for the name of the soda and flavor. Then I use Helvetica for the textures of the box. After they were finished, I created shapes for the label, a listing of the ingredients, a color for the background, and placed the barcode and recycling icon on it. Soon, I worked on making two more labels with different names for the flavors, colors, and ingredients.
